Budget Hotels In Kraków

Kraków offers accommodation to suit every budget. Here are some recommendations for a place to stay at the cheaper end of the market.

Exterior streetview of Miodosytnia Aparthotel with tiled roof and single-level, traditional exterior in the Kazimierz district of Kraków, Poland
Miodosytnia Aparthotel

As a general rule of thumb, the further away from Kraków’s Old Town, the cheaper the accommodation. That said, you can find some excellent places just to the north, in the Kleparz and Wesoła areas, close to the central train station, and around Piasek and Nowy Świat, to the west. Kazimierz can also be a great choice.

Rates vary according to the season. Prices are highest in the summer (late June to the end of September) and around Easter and Christmas, when budget accommodation should cost less than 334zł ( €78 | US$85 | £65 ) per night for a twin or double room (i.e., not per person) with private bathroom but no breakfast. However, you can get some real bargains if you are less fussy where you stay and book early enough. Costs drop to less than 232zł ( €54 | US$59 | £45 ) per night at other times of the year.

Exchange rates are as of October 2024.

Map of Kraków Hotels

Plan where to stay in Kraków with the Visit Kraków map. Hotels are marked in blue.

Each type of landmark has a different colour marker on the map:

  • YELLOW: Kraków Sightseeing
  • GREEN: Kraków Transportation
  • DARK RED: Restaurants in Kraków
  • ORANGE: Michelin Restaurants in Kraków
  • LIGHT RED: Kraków Bars / Clubs / Music Venues
  • BLUE: Kraków Hotels
  • PURPLE: Shopping In Kraków

Click on a marker and it will give you the name of the landmark, with a brief description and links for more information and directions. You can pan, scroll, and zoom around the map, or use the + or – buttons in the bottom left of the map to zoom in and out.

Click on the icon in the top left corner for an index of every location, sorted by category. Scroll down or use the map search (the magnifying glass icon) to find the place you want. Click the name of the place in the list. Its location pin will be highlighted on the map.

Each category is on a different layer, which can be switched on and off. So you can just see the Hotel or Restaurant pins, for example.

If you are using the map on your phone, open the Visit Kraków map and then search for the name of the place. The map will then zoom in on its location.
