One of Kraków’s highlights is the variety of places to eat. From the many Michelin eateries in the Old Town to the delicious vegan options. There is certainly something to suit every taste.

There’s a huge amount of choice when it comes to places to eat in Kraków. We have included a range of different options in our Two-Day Kraków Itinerary, Three-Day Kraków Itinerary and Four-Day Kraków Itinerary pages.
A good way to use this page is to cross reference with our Where To Stay In Kraków guide. This gives an overview of each district, each of which has a very different identity. Once you’ve decided where your base will be, you can start to work out which restaurants are in the same area.
An excellent way to get to know the cuisine of Kraków is to take a food tour, which come in many different flavours. Guides are fluent in English and will show you a side of the city often hidden to the casual tourist. Alternatively, a guided tour of pubs and bars can be a fun way to find your way around.
Polish Restaurants In Kraków
- Pod Wawelem Restauracja
As much an event as a restaurant, Pod Wawelem has eye-popping portions of meat, to be washed down with litres of beer, and should be experienced at least once. - Restauracja Miod Malina
With standards far higher than the mid-priced menu would suggest, Miod Malina is a highly recommended Polish restaurant with excellent customer service. - Klimaty Poludnia
Highly recommended as one of the best mid-priced Polish restaurants in the area, Klimaty Poludnia specialises in tasty gnocchi. - Restauracja Biala Roza
Biala Roza is an excellent example of fine dining at a comparatively reasonable cost. The food is an imaginative update of traditional Polish cooking with a wine list to match. - Ratuszowa Krzysztof Janarek
Don’t expect too much from the food, which is aimed at tourists. The real reason to visit Ratuszowa Krzysztof Janarek is to spend time with one of the best views in the city.
- Restauracja Amadeus
A quiet, slightly formal restaurant in a hotel basement, Amadeus is a reasonable choice in the upper-mid price bracket, serving Polish and Eastern European classics. - Cechowa
Cechowa is a ridiculously reasonable introduction to Polish cuisine. Well-located and favoured by locals, this is highly recommended for budget travellers. - Wierzynek
Dating back to the 14th century, Wierzynek is one of Poland’s oldest restaurants and eating here is a real event. The food is imaginative and the venue itself is stunning. Expensive but worth the outlay. - Golonkarnia Bar and Restauracja
Golonkarnia is an excellent local restaurant specialising, as the name suggests, in crispy golonka, as well as an excellent selection of beers. Very good. - Gosciniec Florianski
Gosciniec Florianski’s updated Polish menu offers generous portions at a reasonable price. Bring an appetite if you’re planning on the mixed grill. - Restauracja Starka
A dependable, characterful, and reasonably-priced Polish restaurant in Kazimierz, Restauracja Starka is famous for its walnut cake. - Mieszczanska Restaurant
Mieszczanska is a simple, homely Polish restaurant favoured by locals. Reliable across the board, including the final bill. - Restauracja Galicyjska
With a very reasonable tasting menu of Polish flavours, Galicyjska is very romantic and scores pretty well on most aspects. - Mieta Resto Bar
With a simple, family-friendly Polish and Italian menu, Mieta offers good value and service, and has a nice outdoor space. - Morskie Oko
A delightful traditional Polish restaurant that’s a cut above most of the competition. Everything looks great and tastes just as good. - Guliwer
With a good atmosphere and service, Guliwer is an unpretentious eatery with a full range of good value breakfasts - Amarylis Restaurant
With an excellent tasting menu but no vegetarian option, Amarylis gives the finer end of Polish cuisine a fully contemporary twist. - Czarna Kaczka The Black Duck
Hearty regional fare for a reasonable price. Czarna Kaczka means black duck and that’s exactly the kind of traditional dish they specialise in. - Introligatornia Smaku
One of the best mid-priced Polish restaurants in the city, Introligatornia is highly recommended for value, service, and presentation of food. - Resto Illuminati
Resto Illuminati is a very good Polish bistro that still feels like a special evening out. Great cooking in a local style but also good for breakfasts. - Jadlodajnia Wczoraj i Dzis
Incredibly cheap and homely, Jadlodajnia Wczoraj i Dzis is a simple introduction to Kraków as the locals like to eat. - C.K. Browar, Restauracja
With huge platters of meat, the real star of C.K. Browar is a tasting menu of home-brewed beers, which will help you sober up for more drinking. - Chata
Decorated like a mountain tavern, Chata is a fun experience with cheap and tasty local cooking. Perfect for a cold, winter night. - Smakolyki
Away from the tourists and a favourite with local students, Smakolyki gets high scores all round and is recommended for a good, simple meal rather than a classy night out. - Pod Aniołami
Good food and a dramatic interior make Pod Aniołami worth consideration, although it is perhaps a little overpriced. - W Starej Kuchni
Laid back service and a homely feel, added to the big portion of Polish favourites, make W Starej Kuchni a highly recommended mid-priced option in any category. - Wesele
One of the better mid-priced restaurants on the Main Square, Wesele remains a little touristy. Everything looks nice, from the view to the presentation of the food. - Polskie Smaki
A simple but steadfast traditional budget restaurant, Polskie Smaki has a canteen feel but is a great way to get to know local cooking. - FAB Fusion
Priced a little above the competition, FAB Fusion is a strong boutique-style restaurant with modern updates on Polish classics. Also good for a drink. - Kawiarnia – Jama Michalika
Jama Michalika is hard to beat for history and atmosphere, although the dining experience can leave a lot to be desired. Drop in for a drink and a peak instead. - Stara Zajezdnia
Stara Zajezdnia is a huge, busy beer hall on the edge of Kazimierz. The food is designed to accompany the drinks and is of the burger and steak variety. Great beer, though. - Baroque
If you’re already here for the cocktails, Baroque’s food will do at a pinch, but order early, as the service can be very slow. - Europejska
A stunning location on the Main Square and fine Art Nouveau interior gives Europejska one of the best views in town. A solid choice for a Polish breakfast. - No 7 Restaurant
An attractive looking restaurant in a fantastic location, the food at No 7 is fine but the experience is more about the view than anything. - Restauracja Stodola 47
A good value, mid-priced Polish restaurant, Stodola 47 offers big portions, which should raise a smile and fill a hearty appetite. - Restauracja Zdybanka
Zdybanka’s meat-based menu has a few little extras that set it apart from other Polish restaurants in the city, not least the drinks list which includes a special horseradish vodka. - Ogniem i Mieczem
Ogniem i Mieczem is both hospitable and theatrical. Expect big platters of traditional Polish flavours, matched by delicious honey vodka. - Old Town Restaurant Wine and Bar
Old Town Restaurant is a fantastic exponent of Polish cuisine and hospitality and one of the most enjoyable mid-priced places in the city. - Pierogowy Raj
An excellent choice if you need a quick, cheap, and tasty bite to eat at either end of a train journey, Pierogowy Raj is a no-frills seller of Polish dumplings. - Pierozki U Vincenta
Delicious Polish dumplings and cheap beer in Kazimierz. This is a no-nonsense establishment offered at a budget price. - Piwnica pod Kominkiem
Piwnica pod Kominkiem is a romantic, medieval restaurant with a nice traditional Polish menu and good cocktails. Good value for money. - Trezo Restauracja
Contemporary take on traditional Polish food and a strong all-rounder, mid-priced Trezo is great value and very popular with tourists. - Wisniowy Sad
At first glance, Wisniowy Sad is a little shabby. The menu, however, has a few surprises and scores highly for value, taste, and atmosphere. Worth a second look. - Pod Baranem Restauracja
Close to the Castle and Cathedral, Pod Baranem is appealing and homely, and its mid-priced Polish menu is highly recommended. - Bazylia Restaurant
Bazylia’s mid-priced Polish menu can be good value if you in the area but there are better options within walking distance. - C.C.Stefan Batory
The C.C.Stefan Batory is a floating restaurant with one of the better views on a summer night. Probably a better venue for a drink, the menu will serve at a push. - Restauracja Pod Kopcem
Inconveniently located, Pod Kopcem is probably best suited for private events such as weddings, but may be worth investigating if you’re in the area.
Eastern European Restaurants In Kraków
- Kogel Mogel Restauracja
Although a little pricey, Kogel Mogel is a highly attractive Eastern European restaurant with some rare vegan options. - Balaton
With probably the heartiest portions in town, Balaton’s Eastern European fare puts the hungry in Hungary. - Gruzinskie Chaczapuri
For something a bit different, Gruzinskie Chaczapuri has a strong Georgian influence, with a drinks list to match. Hearty food is matched by the service. - Restauracja Stylowa
Restauracja Stylowa is an unusual Soviet-themed experience, obviously focused on tourists visiting the Nowa Huta district. Cheap, though, and good fun. - Smak Ukrainski
Specialising in Ukrainian food and drink, Smak Ukrainski is rudimentary but authentic, and overall a recommended experience for value and service. - Restauracja Bombonierka
Although the presentation and service can be uneven, Kazimierz’s Bombonierka is still worth a shot, especially for the ‘unusual’ apple pie and other Central European items. - Pod Blacha, Karczma
Though not in the most convenient location, Karczma Pod Blacha offers good value Eastern and Central European food, with some family-friendly entertainment thrown in. - Aperitif
Despite the charming interior and price of food, Aperitif is a hit and miss affair with decent food sometimes let down by poor service.
Italian Restaurants In Kraków
- Grazie
A little away from the heart of town, Grazie is a rustic Italian pizzeria that’s friendly and really excellent value. - Del Papa
Del Papa is a charming and rustic Mediterranean restaurant with the emphasis on nicely-presented Italian dishes like black pasta. - Bianca
Bianca is a great all-round Italian restaurant with excellent desserts and a decent choice for vegetarians. The menu is a little different from usual as it doesn’t feature pizza. - Aqua e Vino
Aqua e Vino serves no-nonsense pasta dishes for (usually) a no-nonsense price in an intimate, basement setting. - La Campana
At its best in the summer months, La Campana is a good Italian restaurant with good desserts. The leafy outdoors area is the real star. - Restauracja Stary Piec
Located well outside the centre of town, Stary Piec is an authentic Italian restaurant frequented mainly by local residents. - Pizza Garden
Off the beaten track, Pizza Garden is one of the better choices in the area. Nice, fresh pizza and pleasant atmosphere. - Pomodorino Ristorante
A functional but fresh Italian restaurant to the south of the city. It’s a decent choice, especially as there aren’t many other places to eat in the area. - Pizzeria Trzy Papryczki
A reasonable mid-range trattoria in the Old Town, Trzy Papryczki would make a good back up if some of the better competition is full. - Boscaiola
Boscaiola is a romantic choice, that’s also good for parties. The pizza and pasta menu is quite tourist focused, but does well if you’re looking to refuel. - Spaghetteria Kraków
Located to the south west of the city, Spaghetteria Pizza and Pasta is a reasonable choice and good value if you happen to be in the area. - Da Marco Pizza Pasta
Cosy and quiet with a good range of well-cooked pizza, Da Marco is a fine choice in a city full of Italian restaurants. - Trattoria Pergamin
A simple, unremarkable Italian restaurant in the Grzegórzki district of Kraków, but Pergamin is an okay choice for pizza if you have kids with you. - Trattoria Rialto
Attached to a shopping centre to the south west, Rialto is an Italian restaurant offering good value pizzas, especially suited to larger parties. - Trattoria Soprano
A diverse Italian menu in a charming, rustic environment, Trattoria Soprano is a strong contender in the mid-priced range when measured against the competition. - Restauracja Tradycyja
Something of a tourist restaurant, Tradycyja takes full advantage of its Main Square location. The service and value are pretty good, however. - Movida Cocktail Bar
The cocktails take precedent over Movida’s food and the place can get busy, but it can come in handy if you need a break from drinking.
East Asian Restaurants In Kraków
- Youmiko Sushi
Imaginative Japanese cooking, fresh from the open kitchen, Youmiko Sushi is one of Kraków’s most exciting mid-priced restaurants. - Edo Fusion Restaurant
With an extensive selection of well-prepared pan-Asian fusion dishes, Kazimierz-based Edo has something for everyone.
American Restaurants In Kraków
- Manzana
An excellent mid-priced Mexican / American restaurant with hearty burritos, chilis, and other delights for the hungry diner, as well as margaritas. - Jeff’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar
Located in a shopping mall, you’ll only visit Jeff’s if you are hankering a big burger or deep-fried Tex-Mex. - Hard Rock Cafe Kraków
Burgers and cocktails combined with rock and pop memorabilia on the walls, the Hard Rock brand should be familiar to everyone. - Grande Grill
A mid-priced steakhouse in a great location, Grande Grill is not the most sophisticated restaurant in the city but has a lively atmosphere. - Someplace Else
An American sports bar, more suited to watching the football with a couple of drinks than dining out. All the same, the menu is broad and will do at a pinch.
Mediterranean Restaurants In Kraków
- Albertina Restaurant and Wine
The lobster takes top billing at Albertina, one of Kraków’s finest luxury restaurants, with first-rate Mediterranean food and atmosphere. - Restauracja Padre
A little more expensive than average, but still one of Kraków’s top mid-priced places to eat, Restauracja Padre features fresh Mediterranean and Polish fish and meat dishes, as well as lovely desserts. - Farina
At the upper end of the price spectrum, Farina is one of the finest seafood restaurants in the city, but still offering good value for money. - Hamsa Hummus and Happiness Israeli
Middle Eastern food with a positive message and delightful mezzo-style plates, close to the Remuh Synagogue in Kazimierz. Really good. - Buszek nutka smaku
Actually a North African shisha pub with a mixed menu of local favourites and Mediterranean dishes, Buszek is a very handy stop off for the train station. - Corse
Corsican seafood with an interesting drinks menu, Corse is a great mid-priced restaurant in Stare Miasto, offering something a little different from others in the area. - Hellada Greek Tavern
Fans of Greek cooking should find something on the menu to appeal. Otherwise, there’s not a great deal to recommend Hellada to the casual visitor.
French Restaurants In Kraków
- Cyrano de Bergerac
Hidden away in an atmospheric brick vault, French restaurant Cyrano de Bergerac is highly recommended for romance. - Zakladka Food and Wine
Snails and frog legs are part of Zakladka’s diverse French-influenced menu. The service is great and it’s a lovely place to eat. Recommended. - Zazie Bistro
An excellent French bistro in Kazimierz, Zazie serves fresh and beautifully-presented Gallic standards in a relaxed atmosphere. - Studio Qulinarne
Studio Qulinarne offers fine European food in an elegant environment. Not the best value in town, but a sophisticated experience with some intelligent choices for contemporary eating.
Indian Restaurants In Kraków
- Indus Tandoor
Well-priced with a lot of individual care from the kitchen, Indus is a good all-round Indian restaurant in a convenient location. - Ganesh
This reasonable India restaurant in the heart of the Old Town is a good standby for vegetarians, although Ganesh’s service can be disappointing. - Hot Chili Indian Restaurant and Pizza
There is too much competition in the surrounding area to recommend Hot Chili Indian Restaurant, though it is fairly priced and caters to vegetarians.
Vegetarian and Vegan Options In Kraków
- Vegab
If you’re looking for a cheap bite on the go, Vegab’s vegan kebabs are utterly delicious, even for meat eaters. - Sissi Organic Bistro
One of the better mid-priced restaurants in the city, Sissi also scores for the gluten-free options. The food is light and healthy, and has a summer garden. - Pod Norenami
Pod Norenami’s huge menu of East Asian styles has something for everyone and there is plenty for vegetarians. Great selection of Asian drinks as well. - Przystanek Pierogarnia
A tiny corner shop away from Kraków’s Old Town, Przystanek Pierogarnia is a super-cheap introduction to the traditional Polish dumpling. - Zielone Tarasy
A functional place, more suited to a lunch time catch up with friends than a special occasion, Zielone Tarasy has a great view of the city but is not so conveniently located.
