Although Kraków Airport is easy to reach from the city centre, an overnight stay right next door is sometimes the smarter option. It can remove last-minute stress and all but guarantee you won’t miss a flight, due to a transport snafu.
The Hilton Garden Inn Krakow Airport is directly across the road from the terminal building and is the first building you see when you leave the airport, which means it’s walkable. The Hampton and AirPark Balice are cheaper options within a kilometre of Krakow Airport and which both have free shuttle bus options.
Please note: these hotels serve Kraków’s main John Paul II International Airport (KRK) and not Katowice Airport, which is used by some budget airlines but much further away.
The Hilton Garden Inn is the closest hotel to the airport, and the most expensive. This 4-star accommodation is right across the road, mere moments away from the terminal entrance. The mid-range class is capably handled by the Hampton by Hilton, less than half-a-mile away to the south of the airport, with a shuttle service available. Finally, the 2-star AirPark Balice is an excellent budget property, less than 15 minutes away by bus. This hotel also offers an airport shuttle. All hotels are worth a look.

As the closest hotel to Kraków Airport, the Hilton Garden Inn is a compelling choice. Check-in and the security gate are a literal stroll away from the hotel entrance, which saves hanging around the airport more than necessary. The 4-star accommodation is in excellent condition with fantastic soundproofing against the noise of the planes taking off from the nearby tarmac. The runway can be seen from some of the front-facing rooms, which should appeal to the kids. All transport options are also minutes away and the hotel has all the facilties you’d expect for the price.

Located by to the side of the main road into Kraków Airport, the Hampton by Hilton is a convenient pre- or post-flight choice for an overnight stay. A kilometer away, and connected by shuttle bus, this 3-star accommodation has bright, contemporary rooms and all the facilities a traveller could need.

Staying close to an airport usually brings a premium cost, but the AirPark Balice is an attractive and comfortable 2-star hotel at half the price of the 4-star alternative. The property is close enough to remove a lot of travel stress before or after a flight and also offers a free shuttle service. It’s an obvious choice for the price conscious traveller who needs an overnight stay as close to the airport as possible.
