There is a public bus service, if the weather’s bad or you have a lot of luggage, though this is run independently of the hotel itself. The property is competitively priced, especially since breakfast comes with the cost of the room, and scores well in all categories. This is a good choice for early flyers, as breakfast is served from 4am. Some rooms offer an exciting view of the runway itself, but the hotel is very well insulated against noise.

The cheapest option listed here, the 3-star Ibis London Luton Airport is also about 10 minutes on foot from the terminal building and equally served by a public bus service, rather than an in-house shuttle. The rooms are comfortable, if a bit basic, but can suffer from ambient noise from within the hotel itself. There’s an extra cost for breakfast, which serves from 6am. The property is close enough that some rooms offer a view of the airport runway, though.

Just beyond the airport perimeter is the 3-star Holiday Inn London Luton Airport, which falls into the mid-range price bracket. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room and serves from 5.30am. The hotel scores highly for its attentive staff and offers a few features, like its fitness centre, lacking in its cheaper neighbours, but it also relies on the public bus service rather than its own shuttle. The walk to the terminal is roughly 15 minutes.

If you’re looking for a bit of luxury in an overnight say, the 4-star Courtyard by Marriott Luton Airport is a smart and contemporary hotel exactly half-a-kilometre away from the terminal building. The rooms rate particularly well for comfort and are well insulated against airport noise. Continental breakfast is available from 4.30am and cooked breakfasts start from 5.30am, though there is a charge. Again, you’ll need to make your way on foot to the airport itself or use the public bus service.
