About as boutique as they come, the Warszauer is a compact, super-modern hotel with bags of style in Kraków’s exciting Kazimierz district. (Check availability and pricing on Booking.com or Agoda.com).
From the slim, white rectangle on the building’s façade to the beautiful (and comfortable) geometric furniture inside, everything about the Warszauer bears the hallmarks of its own stylistic signature. There are a range of rooms, including a deluxe with a balcony, suitable for morning coffee. The deluxe apartment and junior suite have separate living and sleeping areas, whilst the penthouse is split over two levels.

The hotel rates well in every category. The location is excellent – a block over from the heart of Jewish Kraków and surrounded by restaurants, the staff are welcoming, and breakfast is cooked to order – as well as being included as part of the booking. Even the wifi works as it should. With less than a dozen rooms, the Warszauer is able to focus on service. Such a refined experience comes at a premium, of course, but I think it’s worth the cost.

One of the trimmest boutique hotels in a rapidly crowded field, the Warszauer is an excellent base for exploring what remains one of the city’s most interesting districts.

Kazimierz District: Just south-east of the Old Town, Kraków’s historic Jewish district Kazimierz is now an atmospheric mix of cafes, bars, and galleries, with a resurgence of the culture that was all but destroyed. The area includes ul. Szeroka, the original heart of Jewish Kraków and plenty of great places to eat, including Michelin-starred Bottiglieria 1881. You’ll also find some excellent boutique hotels, including the Queen Boutique Hotel and Spatz Aparthotel.
