In one of the atmospheric streets south of Market Square, and in the midst of some charming restaurants and shops, Aparthotel Stare Miasto is somehow both in the middle of things and outside the usual tourist traps. (Check availability and pricing on Booking.com or Agoda.com).

The apartments come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from a studio to full executive suite. All share the striking interior of exposed brick and wooden flooring. The two-bedroom apartment has a kitchenette and would suit a 4-person family. There is also a proper wifi connection and streaming services on the TV.

Downsides? The area can be noisy at night, especially for front-facing apartments, and guests have suggested that some of the fixtures need a refresh. All the same, this is a unique and comfortable place to stay.
